Background

Many have been trying for years to connect Obadiah Chaney Sr. from Green County KY back to Virginia or other location. All that may be obtained through documentation is that he was born abt. 1771 in Virginia, had a wife named Elizabeth, maiden name most likely Burton, and died in Green County Kentucky in 1847. I will list below some data that will hopefully generate some discussion, plus make a suggestion that Obadiah is related to Jacob Chaney of Pittsylvania County VA, through his son James.
